1. Photographers are masters of Photoshop
At least I am not, u can see my post-processing are usually very slow.

Firstly, most professional photographers don’t have time to edit their photos. Normally we have to take more than 1,000 photos for a government meeting and have to submit right afterwards.

Second reason is, when I was working, I could borrow the best equipments easily. With RM200,000 equipments in hand, it is not difficult to produce better photos than RM2,000 equipment.

Lastly, Photoshop is not the best way to produce natural appearance. Over cooked photo will only make model’s beauty look untrue.

2. Elaborate poses and studio lights will give u prettier appearance than natural poses.
Half, half. It is true, elaborate poses and studio lights can make anyone looks not too bad. Nevertheless, when ppl looking at elaborating poses and studio photos, their brain will automatically downgrade what they have seen, and put all those efforts in vain.

When I showed VU graduation photos to my friends, housemates, often they asked me, “Are u studying hospitality?” “Are these model school students?” All of those shots are just natural poses.

3. Flash is bad for eyes
Flash is not. So far there is no report any government leader being flashed by reporters of the whole day (more than 100,000 times probably) and blinded.

The reason is, usually, photographers only light up the indoor ambient brightness to 1/800 of 2:00PM, Sunshine Daylight with their flashes. We are using very small battery powered flashes. There is no way for photographers to light up the room as bright as under the sun.

The little bit uncomfortable feeling is because ur eyes are unprepared for the flash.

4. Flash 3 times will make 3 photos
there was a classmate came to press me his 3 photos for I flashed him 3 times. Flashing 3 times in many professional cameras will only result 1 photo:
1 flash for metering the ambient light, 1 flash for red eye reduction, 1 flash for actually flash provide the exposure of the photo.

There were even some high-end cameras flashing 5 times result only 1 extremely high quality photo.

5. Photographers will always have adequate equipments on hand.
Not really, I always buy and sell equipments. Still some gears are borrowed from magazines. If u want to date me to photo some event, at least inform me 1 month in advance.

6. Photographers will not shy before the model.
It is at least untrue to me. One of the reasons I like photography is because I am not good at communicating with others, I use camera as bridge to improve my communication skills.

Many great photographers in history were very shy as well. You can see their sensitiveness from their photos.
.
If you want to be a great model, I suggest u try to learn how to help ur photographer to relax on his shyness. Like asking him to teach u how to give better poses, asking his suggestions on ur make ups.
